Sanvil Art Centre invites passionate and skilled individuals to join our team as Volunteer Craft Artists. This position offers the opportunity to contribute creatively to the community while gaining valuable experience in the art sector. Volunteers will design, create, and display unique handmade items, helping to foster an appreciation for cultural arts.
Responsibilities
1. Design and Production: The volunteer should develop and execute original craft projects using various materials and techniques. They should ensure high standards of artistic
quality and innovation in craft creation.
2. Exhibitions and Community Art Engagement: The volunteer should participate in and help organize community exhibitions and craft fairs. They should also engage with visitors
during events, providing insights into the craft-making process.
3. Educational Workshops and Classes: The volunteer should assist in conducting workshops, classes, and training sessions for different age groups, including school children and adults. They should be able to collaborate with other artists to prepare educational content related to craft arts.
4. Support and Maintenance: The volunteer should help manage inventory and order supplies needed for craft projects.
Qualifications
A strong interest in arts and crafts; formal education in Fine Arts or Craft Arts is a plus but not required.
Previous experience in crafting, with skills in handling various materials preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to commit to a regular schedule for volunteering.
Volunteer Terms
- This is a voluntary, non-paid position.
- Expected commitment: Minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Volunteers will receive training and support from experienced staff members in case it is needed.
